Our team of four was tasked by the Finnish renovation firm Consti, to improve their renovation experience for owners and tenants. We conducted several interviews with owners, tenants, board members and housing managers that were currently undergoing a pipeline renovation in order to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement. Our deliverables included a service map, five key problem statements and a storyboard visualizing a potential solution to one of the problem areas.

Based on issues we noticed with the communication flow between owners and renovation workers, we proposed that Consti could leverage their existing OmaConsti platform to better inform owners about their apartment-specific renovation progress.
We found that owners wished to know when specific renovation tasks were started and completed in their homes, along with the ability to make adjustments mid-way through the renovation. In our storyboard we described what it would look like if the platform included these features. For example, we illustrated how renovation workers could upload images of completed tasks which would likely decrease stress levels and misunderstandings with owners.
